Providing EXCELLENCE in the field of Chinese Medicine!

September 18, 2011

Hello Practice Members & Friends!

October 24 marks Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Day to broaden the awareness of this type of healing.  Last year, we celebrated at Sam Woo on Culver in Irvine.  Please let me know if you are interested and I will keep you updated on where and when we will be celebrating this year.  Last year, I asked for $20/person and I covered any additional costs.  I plan on doing the same.  It is so much fun!!!! Thanks for your consideration and please invite all of your friends, families and co-workers.

Our 21st YouTube video has been posted and it is based on Sexual Abuse.  Please share it with everyone you know because there are people around you who are too ashamed and fearful of being judged for something that had happened in their past, whether they were the “victim” or the “abuser.”  You can read this article at:

-Los Angeles Times Sunday, September 18, 2011

I am at Starbucks on this beautiful Sunday getting some online work done right after my special church experience today.  Upon walking out with my little treat, I saw the LOS ANGELES TIMES front page.  Interestingly, here is what has been printed:  “Drugs now deadlier than autos.”

I’m going to shed some light on how I feel and how Chinese medicine can help this epidemic in our beautiful and hopeful country.  I am an optimist and I truly believe that when a person believes in herself, she can find absolute wellness in her body, mind, and spirit.

Everything that I will be citing is in direct response to this article written by Lisa Girion, Scott Glover and Doug Smith found in the Los Angeles Times. I will also be paraphrasing from the article.  Please read the article in full to obtain all of the details as the authors had written.

“Drugs…cause of death in 2009, killing at least, 37,485 people nationwide, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

…The death toll has doubled in the last decade, now claiming a life every 14 minutes.

Public health experts have used the comparison to draw attention to the nation’s growing prescription drug problem, which they characterize as an epidemic.  This is the first time that drugs have accounted for more fatalities than traffic accidents since the government has started tracking drug-induced deaths in 1979.

Fueling the surge in deaths are prescription pain and anxiety drugs that are potent, highly addictive and especially dangerous when combined with one another or with other drugs or alcohol.

Among the most commonly abused are OxyContin, Vicodin, Xanax and Soma.  …Fentanyl, a painkiller that comes in the form of patches and lollipops and is 100 times more powerful than morphine.

Such drugs now cause more deaths than heroin and cocaine combined.

…Overdose victims range in age and circumstance from teenagers who pop pills to get a heroin-like high to middle-aged working men and women who take medications prescribed for strained backs and bum knees and become addicted.

…A 19-year old Army recruit, who had just passed his military physical, took a handful of Xanax and painkillers while partying with friends.  A groom, anxious over his upcoming wedding, overdosed on a cocktail of prescription drugs.  A teenage honors student overdosed on painkillers her father left in his medicine cabinet from a surgery years earlier.  A toddler was orphaned after both parents overdosed on prescription drugs months apart.  A grandmother suffering from chronic back pain apparently forgot she’d already taken her daily regiment of pills and ended up double dosing.

…The seeds of the problem were planted more than a decade ago by well-meaning efforts by doctors to mitigate suffering…

….’People feel they are safer with prescription drugs because you get them from a pharmacy and they are prescribed by a doctor,’…’Young people believe they are safer becasue they see their parents taking them…’

…Drug fatalities more than doubled among teens and young adults between 2000 and 2008….Deaths more than tripled among people aged 50 to 69…the death toll is highest among people in their 40s.

Overdose deaths involving prescription painkillers, including OxyContin and Vicodin, and anti-anxiety drugs such as Valium and Xanax more than tripled between 2000 and 2008.

The rise in deaths corresponds with doctors prescribing more painkillers and anti-anxiety medications…at California pharmacies…increased more than 43% since 2007…

…The most commonly abused…hydrocodone…most widely prescribed drug in America…Better known as Vicodin…prescribed more often than the top cholesterol drug and the top antibiotic…

…’What’s really scary is we don’t know a lot about how to reduce prescription deaths,’ ….”

“Claiming a life every 14 minutes.”

So here’s my theory that my past 12 years of Chinese medical experience has taught me.  Pain and anxiety, the top reasons why people are going to their doctors asking for medications, can be treated successfully with acupuncture and Chinese herbs under proper guidance and treatment by a LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST.

My teachers, colleagues and I have successfully treated and “cured” many patients who have suffered from chronic pain and anxiety.  Several of my patients’ testimonials are on my website at:

Please take the time to read through our testimonials, our 48+ Yelp Reviews, especially the longer ones written by patients who really committed time, energy and money to get better with short and  LONG-TERM results.

It is so sad that in 2000 the number of “preventable drug-induced deaths” were 20,000 in the country to 37,485 in 2009.  Something is really wrong here. My driving ambition is to get as many people in our American society to become aware of the POWERS of Chinese medicine. PUT ME TO THE TEST.  Ask to talk with any of my patients whose testimonials you might have read about in my website or learned about on any of my videos.  Come to me with your most critical questions and concerns and I will tell you what is possible and what I feel are the limitations of Chinese medicine.

Let’s turn these rising death numbers backwards and let’s focus on getting healthy and happy.  Let’s PREVENT drug-induced deaths and make the magic of acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas work in our lives.  It may cause more time and energy, but we’ll live longer, healthier and much happier lives. I have 2 beautiful and healthy kids and an awesome and handsome husband.  I want them to live long with me and I want the POWERS of Chinese medicine to work for my own life.

This LOS ANGELES TIMES article is alarming and it should catch all of our attention.  Please share this e-newsletter with your friends and let them know that there are viable options out there to replace the dependency on prescription and non-prescription drugs.

I write this article for the love of my children and their generation.

It is my greatest hope that I write an article with better news regarding

prescription drugs 10 years from now.

Our kids deserve to live drug-free.

Let’s be their role models.

This picture is of my baby, Anais.

I hope and pray that she and Angilynn will also be drug-free, pain-free and anxiety-free.

We were meant to live off of natural foods and drinks, not on drugs.

Mother Nature designed for us to heal ourselves with plants and energetic medicine.

Drugs should be used only when absolutely necessary and they were initially designed for SHORT-TERM relief, not for long-term dependency in order for us to survive.

Please feel free to share these specials with your family, friends and co-workers.  We all could use some Chinese medicine in our lives!

I hope that you are all doing FANTASTIC!  Here’s a special for you to enjoy.  It expires this Monday, October 3.  This special is good for all current patients and is $50 more for anyone who wants to join as a new patient.

If you would like to know how much you are saving, the Community rate is $60/session (after the initial rate of $80).  As you know, I usually offer extra time to my patients unless somehow I really need to leave the healing center.  With the style that I do, the needles need to be in for a minimum of 45 minutes and we prefer for the needles to be in longer if the patient is willing to stay longer.

  • Buy 5 Community treatments for $300 and get 6th treatment free.
  • Buy 10 Community treatments for $600 and get 1 free private treatment and a 30-minute back massage with one of your treatments.  Value of Private treatment and 30-minute massage is $120.
  • Current patients.  New patients add $50 more.  No refunds.
  • Out-of-pocket patients only.

Here’s a special for my Loyalty Program patients:

  • Buy 10 Community treatments at your special price and get 11th treatment for free.

Here’s some information that you might want to read regarding post-menopausal hormones and the link with breast cancer:

Here’s a letter from a current patient who is pregnant who I am treating for morning sickness:

Hi Anna – I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to get back to you.  I’ve been up in San Fran for the past week and just got home tonight.  I’ve been feeling SOOOOO GOOD!  A lil sick here or there but it goes away as soon as i nibble on something.  You are such a wonderful healer.  I’m filled with such gratitude!!
Sending love,

Here’s another letter:

Hi Anna,

I have actually felt pretty amazing! My nausea is much better. Still having severe  mood swings but I’m confident they will get better. Thank you and see you Wednesday!

Please share this email below with anyone you know who has been suffering from bladder infections.

The infection is 100% better. The pain I felt when it started was awful and I thought would never end. I cannot believe that an antibiotic (or a string of antibiotic doses) that a DOCTOR prescribed could cause such an adverse reaction. Now that I’ve read up on this particular medicine – Cipro – I wish that I would have done so before putting it in my body. The side effects seem far worse than the benefits do.

As you know, with my weakened immune system, I tend to get bladder infections anytime a doctor puts me on antibiotics. (for sinus infections, colds, etc.) The medicine to treat the bladder infection then leads to a yeast infection, requiring yet another dose of medicine. I’ve found that the V-Statin herbs treat both infections much quicker and more painlessly than any prescribed medicine has. This last time on the Cipro, however, (when my doctor said this was the only way to treat my sinus infection, despite my concerns to him) my body must have had it with medicine because it feel as though I had both infections at the same time and severe! Apologies that this is graphic and maybe gross, but I could not even urinate because it hurt so bad. Obviously I was concerned not only with the pain but what more could this be? My OB-GYN ran some tests and found absolutely NO infection or other problem, just odd symptoms. She did not want to put me on any medicine, as in her opinion, nothing was wrong with me.

Here’s where I turn to you. I believe I was in for 2-3 sessions a week for a few weeks and follow-up, along with taking the V-Statin for a month and weaning off of it. It took about 2-3 weeks for the immense pain to subside, but now, less than two months later, I’m 100% better and couldn’t be happier. I’m also positive I will never take antibiotics again.

Anna, thank you for the support, both physically and mentally. This was an odd health situation and a very uncomfortable one for a woman to discuss. You’re understanding, sensitivity, and advice to be consistent with my herbs, acupuncture and better eating helped to keep my motivated. I continued to imagine myself healthy and knew that I would get better. It was only time…and I did. And now, I’m continuing to make efforts in my diet and maintaining my health by paying attention to what I put into my body.

Please feel free to use the above as a testimonial for your website, emails, etc. I am so grateful to you for your help and support, and I am happy to share it with others.
